scottoiler on sv 650 sport k6
Does anyone know the correct place to take the vacuum for a scottoiler on sv 650 sport k6.
There seems to be 2 places people are talking about, 1 cutting a pipe and putting a tee piece in ( which I can not find on mine) and 2 removing a bung, is this where there are 2 bungs next to each other, anyone have very clear picture as I am getting confused. Thanks |
the two bungs are where you would attach a vacum gauge, and either one is fine to use. The vacum just tells the scottoiler when the engine is running.

The throttle body for the front cylinder has 2 pipes poking out towards the front of the bike, each with rubber bung on held in place with a metal clip.
The scottoil website has a picture of the right-hand one but either is fine. I found it easier to access the left hand one without dismantling the bike. HTH p.s. does anyone know what the pipes are for? I can only assume for balancing the throttle bodies but then why 2? |
because you are balancing the throttle bodies with each other. when you do it you only try to get the readings the same. whether they're reading 2cmhg or 14cmhg is neither hear nor there.
|
I meant why 2 on the same throttle body. You balance the throttle bodies between the front and rear cylinders, right?
|
between the front and rear yeah. no idea why theres 2 though. are they the same height/size?
|
Identical as far as I can tell.
Perhaps those thoughtful Suzuki bods put an extra one on so you don't have to remove the Scottoiler pipe to balnce the throttle bodies... or maybe not. |
