... and it's just not my week!

Last month I, and a number of other bikes, received a parking ticket in a Solo Motorcycle bay on Brook Street, London. For those that know the area, it was in the bay on the south side of the street, just to the East of Bond Street.

The trouble was that the bay was not suspended when we all parked there at 8:30 in the morning. Even trickier still, the Suspension Notice didn't even describe that bay - instead describing the bay the other side of Bond Street that I normally park in, which was closed due to scaffolding work (funnily enough without an official notice).

All the bikers appealed, and have kept in touch through one of my colleagues who was parked next to me.

Yesterday I received a letter from City of Westminster council, saying that my challenge had been carefully considered, but rejected. I find this rather amazing considering the photographic evidence I provided to them.

I contacted my colleague this morning with the news, assuming his challenge was also rejected.

Fortunately for him, this was not the case - his challenge has been accepted, and the ticket has been retracted. Same day, same bay, same warden, same reasons - but he's got off. I now have to allow my fine to escalate to £100 before I can challenge it again.

Am I to be taken for a fool? Or are they purposefully making my life difficult to try and extract some money out of me? This will go to court and I'm more than likely to win (especially as they've made their case even more untenable) - and I'll be claiming £'s of costs too.

Billy,

I'd stay in bed for the rest of the week fella or at least until your Public Enemy No1 status has been revoked!!! I dunno it looks like your Bad Ass Urban Biker image is catching up with you
It's just not safe for you out in the big wide world at the moment!

Wow... You're being punished, clearly...

My colleague has challenged this to court before... so perhaps they're wary of him. He went all the way to Northampton, and Westminster didn't even bother to show up - so he won. Looks like I'll be following his steps.

Oh Bill. This is nightmare. :?

It calls for crumpets, muffins and cuddles I think. Will happily provide all of the above for you (and Helen of course!) this weekend. :)
