I used to have a full racing exhaust system on my SV that wasn't allowed on all tracks because it was so loud, and Mr Plod never bothered me. A van full of Mr Plods even reversed to allow me to get through too :D

Kate's bike used to set off car alarms.
Just like mine. |
What about insurance? Are there any out there that insure race cans?

Dont know what to do with insurance do ya tell em or what?

A loud can (and they don't get louder than mine - end of!) in my experience will be accepted by certain police officers as an acceptable safety device. But they will attract attention to other illegal activities that you may or may not be carrying out at the time they notice you

most coppers have better things to do than pull for loud cans...
either they are really bored, are anal traffic cops, (some are some arent...pot luck there) or you are doing something to be pulled over in the first place...or have something else to get you pulled over (e.g. really small no plate) Andy |

the actual traffic law states that you must not modify a vehcile from its origional specifcation... but go figure how many ppl keep the same tyres?? so even the pattern brake leavers arnt aloud... :?
however what they might do you for is the noise which could be a number of things i guess u could even get an asbo for it.. that would be kool! |
