Pre-Load Adjusters

Can somebody please point me in the right direction as to which adjuster I need for my 2000 650S. Is it a 14mm, 17mm, 19mm, 22mm, 18-14mm or 20-17mm? Looking through the Pro-Bolt catalogue and they do some nice/nasty stuff in there. Oh and while I'm at it, what size reservoir cap do I need? 61mm, 59mm, 56mm, 48mm, 42mm or 38mm? Ta

Have you put preload adjusters on your bike as the 2000 didn't come with one as standard.

The preload adjuster you are looking at are just pieces you attach to bikes with adjustable preload. All they do is let you adjust the preload without a spanner/tool. Even on the SV with adjustable preload(standard from the K2 onwards) they would look a bit naff IMO seeing the adjusters on the SV look so rubbish :)

Cheers

No, I've not put any on yet and I know they'll do bugger all in terms off help the suspension but I think they look good. Just wanna tart up the ole girl a wee bit.

ps when its finished it WILL be Chavtastic!

Do you have preload adjustable fork caps on your bike?
The bits in the Pro-Bolt catalogue are only the thumb wheels, (which are to allow adjustment of preload without requiring a spanner), to fit on the two flats of the adjuster which is part of the fork assembly, if your bike doesn't have adjustable preload caps fitted to the forks there will be no-where for the thumb wheels to go.
If you don't have preload adjustable forks you can of course fit parts from a later bike, which will allow the fitting of the Pro-Bolt bits. If you do, then which spanner fits across the flats of the adjuster? That's the size you need.

The size for K2 preload adjusters is 8mm, I think. 8 or 7, but probably 8. But as the others say you'd need to get the adjusters to attach them to first. And they just look like taps :) But apart from that...
