Double Bubble
Which double bubble screen is best and is it worth me getting one?
Suzuki do an OEM one, but it only comes in one colour - advice please. Kev |
I like F Fabbri... Fit and finish is very good, and I find it deflects air just right for me. Still, there's no one perfect screen, since riders come in all different sizes. If you were a few inhes shorter or taller than me, or if you ride more crouced or more upright, then you might find that what's comfy for me equals windblast in the face for you.

Enough said. |
Well i'm about 5'9" and tend to sit quite upright on my commute. Does that help?
I have seen the Fabbri ones on the internet and they look good, but I don't want to buy something that will make my journey worse. Is it just a case of suck it and see. Anyway surely it couldn't be worse than my standard one, could it? Are they easy to fit - for a total novice? |
Fitted a Fabbri to mine a few months ago. Didn't take very long to do, and was really simple.
It fits OK, but the original screen fits better - its thickness varies around the mounting points if I remember correctly |

I've got the light smoked Fabbri on my K6, and (on private roads only officer) have found I can quite happily sit almost bolt upright at speeds around 115mph. Push it much more, and you start to feel the wind blast though. As for fitting, unscrew the old one, keeping the rubber inserts & screws. Put the rubber inserts in a cup of warm (not too warm, you'll need them soon) water. Put the new screen in place, use the rubber inserts & push them into the holes. Screw the screws back into the rubber inserts. Job done. The only fiddly bit I found, was aligning all the holes up right, it's not QUITE a perfect fit, but it's as near as damned it. Took me around 20mins from start to finish, and only that long because I was being overly cautious. |
I took my DB off and fitted the OE, it actually feels better for me. I had a fabbri, but there was some high speed buffeting that I didn't like. So the stocker works better for me, on my curvy, for the time being.

They do an OEM double bubble screen - maybe that might be the way to go.
I fancied a dark fabri one, butas I'm new to biking and don't want anything to put me off the light oem one might be the better option..... |
Fabri do a clear one.

I want the dark one though - it looks much better.
Just worried about the fit and the buffeting! |
