Neither Brake lever works the brake light anymore
I just finished refitting my SV650s after getting a new paint job and some new lights to find that the brake light still doesn't come on when I press either the front or the rear lever. It wasn't working before I started the work, but I figured since I was replacing all the lights and housings the odds were good that it would get fixed up. Does anyone have an suggestions? I couldn't find a brake light fuse that could have gone out, though I don't think there is one. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, just thought I would share a picture of the bike just about finished out. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...ie000/bike.jpg |
Either you've missed a connector to the back light or there's a bad earth somewhere - or worse. When my brake lights (there are two bulbs) packed up, the problem was broken wire(s) in the wiring loom around the headstock.

Ouch. I guess that would have been easier to get at with all the plastics off. Oh well. Thanks for the reply.

Get a voltmeter and a wiring diagram and test...
Ps. That can looks loud! 8) |

I didn't install it, but it's the loudest can the guy who owned it before me could find. |
Stupid question - Have you checked the lamp ?
[pendant] no, bulb isn't the correct terminology, bulbs grow in the ground. [/pendant] Dan |
Yep, actually I just changed the whole taillight unit, so I would hope that I'm covered on the lamps.
