Firework Advise

I'm off to my gf's parents for a New Years gathering. I asked a squaddy mate to get me some fireworks to set of at midnight and he's come back with some display things.

There are 5 rockets about the size of milk bottles and a roman candle thing about the size of a milk crate, 9kg and 1.3kg of explosive. Looks like I'm going to invade a small country but anyone got any advise setting these kind of things off? I dont want to burn their house down

Do you really trust your mate? that is the question.

Terrorists can be quite misunderstood.

Is that because they go much higher or just more sideways stuff going on? Just asking as its supposed to be windy tonight.
