What do I do?????

I've got a dilemma, my poor bike is sat in the garage and I haven't riden it since August due to just not having enough time.
My intentions were to use if for commuting to work this summer to just use it more but this means that I will tend to spend loads of time kitting on and off all the time and I don't think it would be practical really!
As we all know bikes like cars depreciate in value all the time so do I keep it in the hope of getting out on it once in a while or do I cut my losses and sell her??

Help??

Jo.

If you can afford to keep her then do so - even if that only means riding at the weekends and commuting on those few sunny, dry high days.

The reason being that if you sell, you'll be sitting in a traffic jam, or at a set of light, or even actually enjoying driving down a quiet country lane, the sun will out and so the car windows will be down and that's when it'll nag you.

On the edge of your hearing there will be something. It'll be familar but you can't quite put your finger on it at first, maybe even dismiss it.

But it'll get louder. Evoking memories sold on or buried. They'll be the smell of petrol and oil in your nose but you know there's nothing wrong with the car.

It'll sneak up on you with a roar of a race can then be gone. Overtaken by a dream gone by.

That's when you realise the fateful mistake you made and so go out and buy another bike.

You can't sell it until April without taking more of a loss on it anyway. I know that doesn't help but trying to sell a bike now is always a bad idea.

Not riding the sv now hubby is!!

I'm riding a little cbf 250 (honda) as a confidence giver as I dropped the SV and bottled it a bit being a new rider but she is there if I want her back but would have to buy Dave a new bike though!! but then again I would be in the same position wouldn't I.

Yeah, and how many times has mine come out of the house? At least yours isn't in the living room   Has the SV not been lowered? If it has, I'd get rid of the Honda and use the cash for something else :D If not, get rid of the Honda and lower the SV

I know the thought of the kit on/off routine is awful, but when I started to do it on a daily basis I soon found that it wasn't a problem at all. It's just what you get used to , and the benefits hegely outweigh the disadvantages.

I would say keep it until the frost/snow/ice etc has gone and its warmed up a bit ( hahaha) then just decide to actually try it for say 2 weeks and see what you think. If you still aren't going to use it then you can still sell.
