Bikes on the Brain - Psychologist Needed!!

I have a psychological problem at the moment where I just cant get bikes out of my head. I am fairly quiet at work and have been messing about at home doing it up. Plenty of time to think - but its at the point where its bordering obsessive. Wake up - thinking bikes. Work - thinking bikes. Go to sleep - thinking bikes (cant sleep).

My question is - Is this normal winter behavior and is anyone else suffering from the same problem?

I was discussing it with my better half and she thinks its very odd (no suprise) - also comments that its been a long time since I have obsessed over her  So I am trying to convince her that its because I havent spent enough time out riding lately. My theory is that if I spent more time on my bike and less time at home with her then maybe this obsession would swap around. Any obsessive behavior specialists that can help to prove this theory?

Nope but I agree with what you say. I've not been on mine for 7 months now and when I see a shiney bike go past I get a twitch

Perfectly normal mate. Especially with a nice bike like yours

Interesting theory  Like it, may have to use it to convince the Mrs to let me out more.

Though I've been trying for years to get out of the bike obsession but not luck so far, think its terminal 8)

Perfectly normal and healthy if you ask me.
Ok my neighbours think I'm a loony 'cos I'm often still in my (badly lit and unheated) garage at 10pm in December fiddling with my bikes.

If you spent all your time thinking about how to overthrow the world or killing puppies or somthing then you should be worried, but not bikes, bikes are ace

As above, completely normal behaviour!

Tricky, my neighbour is often in my garage with me, or me in his with him. Sounds to me like your neighbour is the problem!

Dosnt seem wrong to me. I thought about bikes and my bike every single day from when i brought it, to when i first rode it (there was a three month gap while i was at university, having left the bike with my dad to get it sorted and restricted). I still think about bikes alot, although less now I have that first ride out of my system.

Its like any hobby or interest; you will think about it alot if you enjoy it. It could be an addiction, but i doubt so since you arn't going out and buying a million differant bikes every day

I'll ask my girlfriend what she thinks; she is in her final year of her psychology degree, and has a high interest in these sorts of things.
