Brake pads for SV650 05 plate

Hello all

ive just noticed I really need rear pads and fronts going to need changing soon

Ive done quick search not found anyone that said this is better than standard.

So my question is, are standard pads best option or is there something else out there people prefer to use.

thank you in advance.

Always found ebc HH to be good on the front, just make sure you clean the disc before using. ebc green stuff on the back or HH

How do you 'clean' the disc and why?

Morning all.
It's not a bad idea to clean all the holes in the discs regularly, as they tend to become clogged with brake dust. EBC HH are excellent pads! EBC recommend that you don't use them on the rear unless you have them fitted to the front as they say it avoids brake imbalance. Although in practise, you can.
I reckon they're just covering themselves in the event of someone dropping it, and then claiming it was somehow their fault. A sign of the these litigious times sadly!

Cheers.

Or it could be the fact they want you to buy the fronts and rears together thus making more money

clean the discs using some scotch brite, this removes any old pad sticking to the disc and gives a clean surface for teh new oads to bed to.

Just use std pads on the rear, nothing more really.

What brand would you all recommend i was looking at Ebc is that good or bad and what is the diffrence between Kevlar and sintered

John Burt 10-01-07 02:30 PM

EBC are good pads, sintered HH on the front; kevlar Green Stuff on the back is what I'd fit.
