parking lights disable?

Does anyone know how to disable the parking lights so they can not be turned on even if you turn the key around to the parking position?

removing the bulbs would probably be easiest!

What's the point of putting it in the parking position if you don't want the parking light on :?

All that position is basically a switch for the light. Don't want light on then just leave it in the 'lock' position'

If I've missed some point then ignore this post

I dont think its possable to dissable them as both of the circuits that make up the parking lights are also used for the lights when you are running the bike. It would be possable if you were to make up a circuit that would disable the correct wires when the bike is turned off, unfortunatly i would not trust that setup. You could of course probably dissasemble the ignition key from its connector board and find out what bit is making it do the parking lights and probably cut the circuit.

Whichever way there is probably not an easy way.

First time I used the steering lock, I accidentally put the parking light on.. luckily I noticed after an hour!

You could make a warning light on the dash.

Remember, the park position is the only way you can leave the hazards on and lock the steering. Useful to know in an emergency.

Thanks for all the replies, I think a few people have missed the point that it is too easy if you use your bike every day and are in a hurry to put the key in park instead of lock and return to a flat battery.

Or if you have a datatool alarm you can push both buttons (I think) while the bike is off, and the hazards will flash as normal.
