Are these lights legal pls

Have done a search, lots on cans but not much on lights. This is an Aussie light cluster for a D650. Is it legal in the UK - anyone know? My feeling is not - construction & use regs I think.

Not certain but I sincerely doubt it. Being Australian it is most unlikely to be 'E' marked which means it wouldn't be legal.

I would think they're not legal

they don't look particularly red either

It's home made, so deffo no 'E' mark. And yes they don't look very red.

Take a look at www.ukmot.com, it may tell you what is required. it seems pretty relaxed for bike indicators for example with no position requirements except either side of bike. I've just ordered stubbies to accommodate high level can. I haven't checked regarding colour as i'm going for usual amber jobs :)

Did you manage to resolve this Ed?

Thought it was a good general question for a thread. :)

The clear rear tail light with intergrated indicators on the SV isn't UK road legal, so they would be an absolute no-no :!:

Well I asked the Australian who makes em and he said that they're not road legal in Oz either  So the possibility is to buy one without the lights and plug in some that are OK. I don't want to be pulled.

The UK MOT thingy really is very vague. I am certain that these lights aren't road legal here but I can't get a copy of the CUR on line.

Definitely not worth the risk. You may get away with a bit of noise and the odd suspect mod but lights are a bit obvious.
