Do pointy front calipers fit curveys?
I know there are very few interchangeable parts between pointys and curvys, but the front brake calipers look exactly the same to me.Does anyone know if they are,or would they need adapter plates or any other surgery?

I think they're the same IMHO

Yep they are exactly the same.

Cheers for that.My son is looking to replace or overhaul his 78,000 mile calipers. They are tending to bind despite regular cleaning and TLC.Could go for new pistons and seals, but buying a good low mileage set will be easier and possibly not really dearer either.

I have an already dismantled and partially cleaned set of fronts sitting in my garage. Not sure of the mileage but they look pretty good and don't need new seals.

good choice going with new calipers rather than rebuilding them, when my originals were worn and sticky at about the same mileage, my dealer attempted to rebuild them (to save me money) even though I had told them just to put brand new ones on (new service manager at the time) while one of them was rebuildable, and worked fine, the other would fail when the brakes were applied. Sv calipers don't have much wear before they are worn beyond rebuilding with new pistons & seals |
