Question for anyone with a 525 Renthal rear sprocket...

Do you have one of those calipers that can measure the inside face (ie, doesn't measure the thickest part, but can measure other bits that are recessed). There's a name for those but my jargon-fu is weak...

Anyway, can you find out how much thinner the centre section is than the fat section for me please?

do you mean the ally centre steel outer sprockets?

Nah, the regular Renthal hard-anodised alloy sprockets. The centre's a little thinner than the chain track, and I can't measure it, and it's mucking up my maths :)

The word your looking for is verniers, or you could do it with a micrometer, suprised you haven't gota set Northy - I have but unfortunately don't have the Sv to measure for you.

I doubt a Vernier caliper will do the job - he needs to measure the inner section, a Vernier won't reach over the outer, thicker section.

Micrometer is what's needed, dependent on the width of the outer section, a deep throat, (ooooer!), micrometer might be needed.

Are we going for the B12 wheel fitment then????? Or are you doing something else?

If so IT'S ABOUT TIME

You mean the stepped bit here?

Well mine is a JT, but the size is almost certainly the same/within a gnats wotsit....

Inner is 0.2", outer is 0.275".
Yep, my micrometer is imperial. my humble apologies Northy.

SOMETHING ELSE, alright! :) The Monster wheel, I'm not likely to do it but I want to work out how to in case anyone else wants to. Absolute **** of a job, I reckon, but it'll centre perfectly and the chain track's right.

Micrometer was the word I was looking for, cheers Mr Squid.

Looks like a bit of a bigger step on that JT, Haggis... it's very minor on the Renthal. I could just ignore it or guess it most likely, but I'm in a meticulous mood just now
