Nose Bleeds ......why?

I get nose bleeds about 4 times a week, nothing major, but bl**dy (scuse the pun) annoying. ...... any one clever in the house ..... why? should I be worried ? Is my head caving in slowly?

Go see a doctor woman!

What causes nosebleeds?
The most common causes are dryness (often caused by indoor heat in the winter) and nose picking. These two things work together--nose picking occurs more often when mucus in the nose is dry and crusty.

Other, less common, causes include injuries, colds, allergies or cocaine use. Children may stick small objects up the nose. Older people may have atherosclerosis ("hardening of the arteries"), infections, high blood pressure and blood clotting disorders, or they may be taking drugs like aspirin that interfere with blood clotting. The cause of nosebleeds often can't be determined.

Just for the record I have many really nasty dirty habits, but i don't pick my nose! Oh and less offensive but equally important to point out I don't snort coke! Don't like doctors, make me squirm, but if you think it not wasting their time then perhaps I will

The doctor said I wouldn't have so many nose bleeds if I kept my finger outta there........ralph wiggum

Sorry, I don't like doctors as well, the 1st sentence was kinda jokey. As for the causes I posted up, I didn't expect you to be doing every single one of them.

Here you go NHS Direct nosebleed info. Take a look and decide for yourself if you need to see a doctor. They cauterise recurring nosebleeds.

hummm, interesting. Maybe it is a combo of stress and being outdoors a lot (bloody pressure and drying up (nice!)) . Cheers (didn't take you too seriously  )

I get them in late spring and early summer, and they're caused (well for me anyway) by bunged up sinuses - hayfever usually. I control them by taking IB to reduce the swelling in the sinuses, together with a steroid spray such as Beconase.
