Oops - i got parafin on my tyre and brakes.
I managed to spray parafin all over my rear wheel today.
I had two autoglym spray bottles by by bike. One was autoglym motorcycle cleaner which i meant to use, and the one i actually sprayed all over my wheel, tyre and brake discs was an old bottle that I'd filled up with parafin for cleaning my chain, and de-greasing the engine. I rinsed it all off as best i could, and then gave it all a good spray with the right bottle, rubbed with a rag and rinsed again. Do you reckon it will be okay - or is there something else i need to do to clean it off? |
I shouldn't worry too much. You're unlikely to have done any harm.

just make sure u put some tape ound the parrafin one and clearly mark it !!

Don't they use some kind of Paraffin to wax some rubber surfaces to stop them cracking? should be fine if you got it on the tyres as long as you wash it down =p
|
cheers guys. i went for a cautious ride round the block on it this morning, and the brakes were a bit slippy at first - but were fine after a couple of careful tests. Tyres were fine, and they look really clean and shiny!
Believe it or not, i had completely stripped the label from the bottle and wrote "PARAFFIN" on it with black market - i just wasn't paying any attention. Oh well - no harm done. |
