difference between models..sy,, sx,,, bla bla
hi
on the verge of my first proper bike....am looking at a 2000 sv650 sy... what does the y mean..me mate has an sx and the one im looking a is sy... any help appreciated.. cheers stu |
The x and y indicate year of manufacture - IIRC, X is 1999 and Y is 2000, it then went K1 for 2001, K2 for 2002 etc.
Mostly the differences in years were minor or colour schemes only. Someone with a Haynes manual will be able to check the X/Y differences if you ask nicely;) ! I have only got a Haynes for my CBR.... Welcome to the site by the way, I suppose I'd better say welcome to the madhouse too (there should be a smiley for that) |
And the S refers to wether it's got the half fairing (the bodywork bit, like the bikes at the top right of the page) or not. Also known as bikini fairing.
Sport model from this & last year, and many who have aftermodel bits have full fairing. SV's a great 1st bike, it's mine (proper bike any way) & I love it. Welcome. |
as above:-|
x.........y........... is just the year of the bike the s means it has fairings as opose to a naked the colours changed a bit........if you google it you can get info on all the years & spec & colours, i cant remember where.......i think MCN have all the info.........have you looked in the for sale section on here:smt081 |
