electrics dead - what to do?

my electrics seem to be dead on my curvy. the bikes starts & runs fine, but there's no lights or instruments. this happened originally on a soaking wet day last december (at brands) & I sort of assumed/hoped it was because soemthign had got wet, but it's been sat in a nice dry garage since then, so that's looking unlikely

any bright ideas? fuses maybe?

I would start at the fusebox. Could well be water ingress there.

I'd look for corrosion on the connector plugs, if it stopped working on a wet day and then "fixed" itself where did that pesky water go?
Clean all the connectors.

it didn't fix itself though, that's sort of the point

Its one fuse that control most of it. I had the same problem last year.

I'd suspect a problem in the fuses if the engine is ok and nothing else works. What about indicators brake light and horn?

Yep, check your fuses. There should be spares in the box as well, work your way down the left side- it's probably one of them, can't remember which. 2nd or 3rd down I reckon. Course, it might not be that at all :)

Thing is, fuses don't generally just blow- if it blew when the bike got soaked, that implies damaged wiring somewhere...
