Coolant drain plug failure

Just had my days riding curtailed by the coolant drain plug coming out of the water pump cover. Luckily my mate flagged me down before I came upon the next roundabout, cos I would have been off. Coolant is damn slippery.

Anybody else had this happen?

So am I to take it that it hasn't happened to anyone else?

Not a common one I've heard of. Bad luck!

Pete, glad your mate noticed it. I don't even want to think about "what could....." . Same as Jambo, never heard of one coming off.

Loss of fluid(brake, engine etc) on a bike is one of the scariest things. I've had gear output shaft seals go twice(ZX7R) and filler cap left off and shakes you up a bit just thinking. Luckily like you, got off without any incident.
