theiving cloakroom attendant, law gurus anyone?
Any law gurus on here?
my sister went out to a swanky bar lastnight - checked her coat in to the supervised cloakroom. Inside it was her mobile, purse, passport. bad turn 1 - her bag got stolen from her bad turn 2 - it had her cloakroom ticket in bad turn 3 - attendant refused to look for her coat - even with her passport in which could have proved it was hers bad turn 4 - phoned up today to find coats been stolen, with of course her purse, cards, cash, passport mobile... i know there's usually signs saying that they aren't responsible for loss/damage but does their ignorance in dealing with it lastnight mean they're responsible? Of course she had to pay for it too - which means theres that whole contract acceptance  |

If the bag was stolen from her and the ticket was in the bag then I doubt she'd have any claim against the bar, the thief probably found the ticket and used that to get the coat, no?

Was that as in "swanky" with the silent "s"? ;)

but having found her bag to be stolen she went to get her coat- and was refused giving the thief aaages to take it. i'd imagine after stealing a bag you just get the hell out of their anyway!
