ACF50.,..where to put it?
 

Got some (Yes I know its a bit late) but where can you spray it? I know to keep it away from the discs but is there anywhere else I should leave alone? What about engine/exhaust, will it just burn off there? If so is it just forks and plastics then?

Everywhere except plastics, tyres and brake discs.

Top Tip: Spray the ACF-50 into a bowl, then use a brush. It's much easier to control.

Coat forks, engine, fasteners, bolts, electrical connections, pivot points, calipers (not pads or discs remember!), radiator, oil cooler, wherever. If you get it on the exhaust, no problem, it'll burn off soon enough. I think it's worth coating everything including the exhaust and can as it'll burn off only where it's too hot for the ACF-50.

Just be carefull on the calipers, ACF creeps like mad and if you over do it, it will finds it's way where you don't want it. And, WRC, that's a top tip about the bowl, thanks!

That's a good point about the calipers, and I should probably just point out that all of my advice is dependent on the use of the bowl/brush technique.

Please DON'T spray the can directly onto the calipers, or everything will rapidly turn to s**t when you next require brakes.

do u guys find that it comes out like pink shaving foam?
it says on the tin to spray a fine mist or something, but mine just comes out in pink squidgey blobs, and i end up rubing it on with a clean rag.

Pink marshmallow. Thats the stuff. If you are spraying it, go out for a ride first and make sure the engine etc is right up to temp. The heat will make it spread out well. I use about half a can each time I do it. There is no such thing as too much, it won't hurt anything on the bike, apart from brakes, excess will either burn or drip off. It is a hell of a lot cheaper than new bike bits after all! My top tip, soak a rag in the stuff and use it as a poish mop to do all the controls and yoke etc. Don't forget the inside of the frame, lift the tank and do the bits under there too. I even take off the airbox and really get busy for the first application of the winter. Top it up every now and then on the more expoed bits.

Teri, lookin' good there fella,nice to see you, to see you........ it's an anti corrosion spray developed by the USAF for jet aircraft exposed to he sea on aircraft carriers. At least that's what it claims to be. Busters accessories, 2 cans, 20 quid, use it if you love your bike.

I use GT85 liberally which I hear is basically WD40 with teflon which creates a barrier to the elements. Again you can spray it on just about anything and acts as a lubricator and moisture displacement agent and rust inhibitor. Is it as good as ACF50 :confused: or same with a different name ? Also GT85 is cheap:D £4.49 a can from Halfords

Cheers for the advice, will hopefully get a good coat on at the weekend.
