Ducati Fairings...
I want to put a 748/916/996/998 Fairing on my 06 SV. I was wondering if anybody knows which fairing stay/bracket would need to use to hold up the headlights and upper portion. The SVS one or the ducati one? I see somebody has done it on a 1st GEN SV which can be found at http://www.sv645r.de.vu/ it's in German and i emailed the guy but no response. I have the fairings on the way, I need the headlights and to know which brackets to use. Any help would be appreciated or if someone can steer me in the right direction. Thanx a lot!

Re: Ducati Fairings...
Ooh, don't like that much... He's had to mount it pretty high, it seems, to make the controls fit the fairings. Makes the bike look far too tall IMO, and the gap around the controls looks awkward. The tail's too low, which makes it all look even worse- though by itself, the tail fitment is very neat.
One of the best ways to make fairing brackets is to get a load of the ally strip B&Q sell, and simply cut and bend it to suit. Very easy that. |
Re: Ducati Fairings...
Yeah, the gap around the bars is a bit "awkward". Fair play though... That exhaust looks pretty good too.

Re: Ducati Fairings...
:eye: Hate to drag the ol discussion up again, BUT, it just goes to show the lengths curvy owners will goto to hide the hideousness of their bikes!!
:smt064 lol in all seriousness tho, nice idea, but a bit of 'tiding' needed |
Re: Ducati Fairings...
I think it looks good, but neither as good as an actual Duc' nor as good as an actual curvy SV. Maybe with a slightly lower/flatter screen it wouldn't look so tall.
