Anyone had a look at these before?(digi gear indicator)

These look really good if not a little expensive.

Has anyone on here used one or tried one. Are they any good?

Somebody on here likened that to a Random Number generator...

Take it they are a pile of rubbish then? Can't see it being that accurate if it works it out from the ECU can it?

Another worthless gimmick then?? :D

Just a observation but why do you need to know what gear your in?

I bought my Dad one to fit to his FZ6 Fazer as he having been pillion he needs one! (To justify that, he is used to old british bikes, where the gears are the other way round and on the right, not left). He had a look at fitting it, then did with his bro who is a sparky and rebuilds old bikes. Between them, they decided it was best to take to a dealer, as the electrics seemed rather complecated. The dealer agreed it wasn't an easy job, and quoted just shy of £200 to fit it :smt103 Hence it went back onto ebay where it came from!

I think for bikes with a front wheel driven speedo its harder to setup as it needs to have the wheel spinning to set it up properly, im not sure though.

Why bother i say, if the bike feals go in a certian gear then its ok, if its screaming then change up and if chugging change down.

I do that too, but I haven't even thought about getting a gear indicator fitted. Don't think I really need one.
