Sony PSP questions
 

Today I was getting a birthday card in town, passed argos, noticed they were outing PSP value packs for £129, so I bought the last but one on a whim. (OK, I havn't told you its pink yet, I was trying to keep that quiet:smt103 ).

Seems a pretty good toy, I've even managed to surf the net on it after just 30 mins of playing around.

Anyway..
Looking on the net, it looks like it is possible to load custom firmware on the thing, and then play PS1 games - now that would be soooo cool.

Anyone got experience of this? I'm referring to the dark Alex custom firmware. Not sure how its achieved with my machine, its a TA-082 with firmware 2.81
Does it have to be downgraded then upgraded, or is there an easier way?

I read in the paper the just this week the very latest firmware (3.03 i think) has been cracked, so you wont have to down grade.

As much as I know so far though, as I've not been looking for it yet so cant tell you where to get it, or how to use it.

i managed to get a pink psp - not value pack, base pack i think it is so no mem card, etc for £99 from amazon :D they have them cheap!

it's for my gf though...i have my own (i really do!) and it's the only way to make her play psp with me lol!
