Calling all supersport riders...

I'm looking at replacing my dead SV soon and think i'm going to go for a sports 600.

I've checked insurance prices for all the Jap 2003 supersports bikes and they're all within £80 of eachother so that won't be a deciding factor.

I would appreciate what you guys have to say on each of the models.

Thanks in advance.

For me it (purist factors like power & personal preference like looks etc aside) it would depend whether you want to fight it, tickle it or really ride it.

My top choice would be the CBR 600RR - and for similar reasons for choosing the Blade too. It is what it is and does what it dies so well you can concentrate on getting your skills to the level of the bikes.
A great learning tool and super teacher.

Others have thier quirks and eccentricities that may make for a more interesting ride for some - but personally, I don't want to have to tailor my riding to compensate for a bike's 'schtick'. I want a bike that will teach me the right way of doing things.
Some call that boring - I call it learning.

If you are not that bothered which one and insurance is about the same, then look into which one is the best bargain to buy.You may find you can get a brand new 06 Kwak or GSXR for little more than an 04 CBR,depending on whether the shops have leftover stock.
If you can't run to that,be very choosy and make sure you get the most bike for your money.Plenty out there to look at.

I'd have a CBR600F myself... You give away sharpness that you'll likely never miss in return for practicality that you probably would miss. Look fantastic as well :)

Cheers guys.

I know you can't get a bad 600 nowadays so I guess I'd be happy with any of them.

The Honda CBR600F sport looks ace in white, the RR in red too and I am attracted to the fabled Honda build quality as a year round rider.

Been looking at the ZX-6R's too as the purchase price is lower (by about £700) and the fact that it's a bit of a headbanger appeals to me too.

I ride all year but get my kicks in summer so I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of practicality.

I know the new Suzuki's can be picked up for a song but the insurance gets out of reach on a current model, need to stick to 03/04 really.
