MP3 and GPS (merging device needed)

I always ride solo and have nouse for an intercom but would like to hook up my GPS and an MP3 player to a gizmo that would allow the GPS to override the player's sound. It would be good if the gizmo could also amplify the sound when needed. Prfereably as cheap as possible.
Any ideas?

The cheap as chips intercom system at Lidl would do the job and is only a fiver. It's a wee box with a built in amp and 2 inputs. You could use one for MP3 and one for GPS assuming that your GPS has a 3.5mm headphone socket.

You could, assuming your GPS has Bluetooth, go for a Jabra BT325s. Works great for me. If the sound level isn't high enough for you then get a Boostaroo amp/splitter.

Both available from time to time on fleabay:D

Just get a 2nd hand Autocom off of Ebay. Autocom is by far the leader in the field and gives really good audio quality. Just don't install the microphone in your lid.

Don't forget you can also use the Autocom with a 2 way radio when group riding, which is a very handy tool.
