GT Moto Brake Bleeder
 

Bought one of these from Halfords for a tenner. The one way valve works a treat and made bleeding the brakes single handed a complete piece of p1ss. Only criticism would be that the tube lengths supplied could be longer, but easily made longer with new tubing. A cheap and useful bit of kit.

£10 you didnt need to spend, but if it makes you happy !! ;)

An 8mm spanner and a length of washer hose is all you need.

Agreed, that is all you need but this makes single handed bleeding a lot less fiddly.

:D Holy thread resurrection batman! I still use this little gizmo for simple one handed bleeding. I have found it needs a nipple that sits tight in the threads and only back the nipple off a small amount.

Today's top tip...

If you decide to have the front wheel out to give it a good clean up, then decide to change the brake fluid, make doubly sure that the block of wood you've got holding the brake pistons in place hasn't slipped out of place as you start pumping the brake lever.

"Pop" sound, following by brake fluid all over the formerly nice, blue painted garage floor and an awful, and I do mean shameful, amount of foul language on my part.

Now, for this to happen once - as very much an amateur mechanic, would be forgivable.





Twice..?

Looks like after the bike's put back together my next purchase is another tin of floor paint to re-do the 3 x 3 foot area of blistering, slippery mess then.

James, that brake bleeder kit works brilliantly if you couple it with a 500ml pop bottle. Drill a hole in the lid and push the larger tube through. Attach the smaller hose to the bleed nipple and it reduces the mess/fiddly bits even further.

Aha, nice tip - cheers fella!

I'm now swithering (why do I always seem to veer off on jobs like this - "oh well, if I've got this off then I might as well do that, and whilst that's off I might as well replace those... etc).

I'm now wondering whether I should just go the whole hog and replace the piston seals too - it's another £25 (per side), but as I say, the bike's in bits now anyway and the garage floor is already fooked...

I doubt you're the only one who does that. Ebay is your friend for buying seals/bearings etc i found I generally cant get them cheaper anywhere else unless your bike happens to be bike of the month.

im very dubious about this as ive had little to no success in the past with the easy blead kits. (one im using i cut the ball thing off the end and just use it as an expensive jar.

does this one really work with little / no pressure?
