Re: learning how to ride
IMO, once you understand the basics of how the controls work, then you need to put that to use on the road.
Licence lost or not, you need some proper lessons to allow you to ride the bike legally on the public road. This should get you started on private grounds: Clutch is on your left hand, hold this lever in & start the bike. Tap the lever at your left foot downwards so that it clicks. You should now be in first gear. Twist your right hand so your wrist goes down, the bike revs. Hold about 2-3k RPM & slowly release the lever in your left hand. Have a play. If you already knew that much, then nothing except someone being with you to show you will do (ie. professional lessons). |
Re: learning how to ride
if i remember correctly you bought an SV, unless you have a full licence you can't take this out at all, with plates, or an experienced rider.
You will be able to get lessons for the next 3 weeks, just phone around a few places, theres bound to be one school with room. Good luck getting some :) but please don't be tempted to go out otherwise. |
Re: learning how to ride
Do your CBT on a 125 pass your test on a larger bike & hey presto. Thats how everybody else does it

Re: learning how to ride
Losing your licence for 2 months isnt so bad, you dont know how to ride anyway, thus you don't know what they've taken away. Good Luck with whatever you decide to do.
