Oil Cooler Connections
If you use your SV through winter, you'll know what a pain it is trying to keep everything corrosion free. Mine's not too bad but I'm struggling with the connectors to the oil cooler.
I know plenty of places do stainless brake lines - can you get similar oil lines ? The alternative is wire wool and solvol on a weekly basis ........ |
Re: Oil Cooler Connections
yea i cleaned the paint off mine and the bare finish is a cow to keep looking good, i just used wd40 and autosol regular.

Re: Oil Cooler Connections
Sam's got some replacement oil lines on her bike, after the originals blew. Made by a local high pressure line co. (Pirtek rings a bell). Stainless (I think) look quite bling when they were clean :P. Also, has the added side effect that they can handle so much pressure that the head would probably explode before they do :P
Worth asking a similar company maybe. HTH |
Re: Oil Cooler Connections
Those were the first bit to look shabby on my bike too, I keep painting waxoil onto 'em but I know they've got rust patches underneath, stainless replacements would be ideal.
Is the oil cooler itself alloy ? the paint's flaking off mine but it isn't rusting. |
Re: Oil Cooler Connections
Both Hel and BSR-aerotek do oil and cooler lines, though I don't think they have specific kits. I imagine you could call them and then would be able to price you up something.
