Battery Problem
Hello folks. I JUST joined this forum.. And Im sorry if this question has been asked a million times before.
Today I pulled my '02 SV-650 out of Storage only to find that the battery did not have enough power to start the bike (Few cranks then nothing). Now, Ive got a jumpbox and everything... But do you need to pull the front seat off (Allen bolts and all) to recharge the battery? Is there a quick trick? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |
Re: Battery Problem
WELCOME :p
Yes you have to pull the seat off to get access to the battery...it takes all of 3 minutes. Theres a search feature up the top of the page, its handy to find answers to questions you think might be common! Enjoy the forum. |
Re: Battery Problem
hm, any word on what size allan the bolts are?
|
Re: Battery Problem
take the 2 black side panels off, then you can get to the allen bolts to remove the seat, not sure what size (i think the side pannels are 4mm & seat about 6mm? but you dont really need to know the size just use one that fits?

Re: Battery Problem
It's 4mm for the side pannels and 6mm for the seat! As for charging I have a cig lighter socket under the pillion seat which I plug my charger into to save removing the riders seat! I also use this for plugging my air pump into to blow up tyres and also my air bed when I go to bike rallies. Optimate also have attachments very simular that you can do this.
