Looking for a bike (125/250cc trails bike)
 

Hi,

Need a little help. A recent job move means the lovely private underground car park at my last job is no more and there is no way I'm going to park the R6 in a London bike bay!

So I'm looking for a second bike and am thinking something along the lines of a 125/250cc trails bike - I like the idea of some green laning as well as the 3 mile ride into work. I'm looking to buy second hand and have a very small budget - £500-750, but the problem is I don't know what to look for (or what models to type in to ebay/bike trader). I guess I would rather stick with a known brand than go with a new chinese import.

Any ideas?

That's not much of a budget for a trails style bike as they tend to hold value, however you might find something like a Yamaha DT125 I think they may have done an XT 125 as well but you's need to do a search on that one.

Go for a hOnda. Ones that spring to mind are XR125 and XL125, XLR125 , XR250.....Sure someone will what the exact differences regrads the letters.

I had an XR250 Motad and it was a hoot. IIRC checking the oil level (held in frame) involves some sort of ritual :rolleyes: :smile:

i would go for a honda XR250 or 400 or a suzuki DR350
