Dangers of horseriding
BBC News 24 has been running a story today about the risks in horse riding, apparently horse riding "is 20 times more dangerous than motorcycling".
Seems a little exaggerated to me, though I once saw a horse shy and the riders helmet fell off on the way down, landed on her head on tarmac from ten feet up, we had to stop her swallowing her tongue :smt085 Personally I think the hunting fraternity deserve all they get :smt070 , but perhaps mummy & daddy should think again about buying their teenage daughter a pony & go for a motorbike instead :riding: |
Re: Dangers of horseriding
Doesn't surprise me - I mean, your bike just sits there and waits for you to screw up...
... horses don't. They really do have minds of their own. ;) |

that said, horse riding statistically is more dangerous, just how much depends on how you classify it, serious injuries of fatalities etc |
