Alarm options..

Been into my local Suzuki delaer today who quoted £360 for a Datatool S4 Cat1 alarm to be fitted to an SV.

Just wondered if anybody could advise me on a different cheaper alarm and do some companies come out to you and fit it as they do with a car?

I'm going to be moving soon and it's possible my new bike will have to be kept outside :(

i got my s4 fitted for £350 and so far its been excellent. Theres alot of garages trying to get rid of the s3, as its old stock, i'd imagine you could negotiate a fair discount on one. The meta alarms get a good write up.
few points to remember
1. Easier to sell your bike when it has one fitted
2. Insurance discount (although its not huge)
3. fitting a really cheap alarm will cause loads of problems, nearly everyone i know who'ss had one done has spent as much money as me fixing subsequent electrical problems, its a false economy.

Cheers dude, i had the S4 fitted on my Aprilia RS125 and didn't have any probs with that either so may go with what I know.. Found a place who will supply and fit it for £299.

I fitted the Cyclone C11 to mine for £30.

Took me a while to get it sorted & working properly.

But it's £30 that has saved my bike from an attempted theft. I heard the alarm going whilst I was in the office :)

Really hope you don't fall off when the immobiliser suddenly operates while you're riding it as suggested by someone else about cheap alarms

The imobiliser in mine isn't hooked up to the bike :) Neither is the remote start.

Why?

Knowing me, I'd get in the habbit of parking up in neutral & starting the bike as I cross the road to get to it, having put my gear on in the office.

One day, it'd be in gear when I did that :(

Immobilisation is prone to cause headaches too. So for that reason, it just literally acts as a tilt/tamper sensor :)
