Subaru Legacy Sports Tourer
Anyone on here have one? Looking at that or the impreza sportwagon. I prefer the legacy because it has more space than the impreza...
Any thoughts/ideas/impressions? |
Re: Subaru Legacy Sports Tourer
They are supposed to be very decent cars indeed - very reliable and with good dealer back-up.

Didn't Matt (the one down on the South Coast) get one of these ?
Never had a lot of experience with Scoobys, but from what I have heard, they're a bit lacking in refinement, but that maybe the WRX, not the "estate" version... Good motor though, and plenty of horses. . |
Re: Subaru Legacy Sports Tourer
My Mum has a 3.0 Outback Legacy. We got it as an ex demonstrator. She drives all over the North of Scotland, and often tows a double horse box with two ponies. She loves it because it is powerful, quiet and reliable. It drinks lots of fuel, but not more than a large diesel 4x4 with the same towing capacity. I've driven it, and it's quite sporty with excellent road holding. It's also a lot better value than a German equivalent. It came with all the goodies, and there’s lots of room front and back. The boot has a really low loading lip too, which is good for little/old dogs…
Let me know if you want to know anything specific. We looked at the smaller 4-cylinder engines, but they weren’t really up the job of towing such a weight. |

I have indeed just got a scooby:- http://farm1.static.flickr.com/155/4...80f62520_b.jpg White Impreza Turbo with a prodrive short shift box. 98S with 84k miles. Full scooby main dealer history. Mint condition apart from a small crack in the front bumper - so small that I only saw it when I washed it. Paid £2800  See here http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...ghlight=scooby Incredible car to drive. Sub 6 seconds to 60, awesome grip. My first tank average was just over 20mpg  The Legacy is a great car too - a bit more of a sleeper than the Impreza, but still very capable. Find a good one with full history and you will not regret it (apart from the fuel bills :D ) |
Re: Subaru Legacy Sports Tourer
I looked at the impreza sports wagon as well but the boot space is just a bit too short. The Legacy is just big enough to get the golf clubs in without folding the back seat down. Also, the spec level on the legacy is slightly higher and is a bit more family orientated. I had a look at the k7 wrx sti while I was in there...:smt118
