Going to win the lottery tomorrow :)
Figure my luck is in :)
As posted elsewhere on the forum, I got a call from Infinity who were servicing my bike (4k service) telling me they had found a nail in my tyre. So collect the bike and head up to Essential Rubber. Wheel the bike in, up onto a paddock stand and find the nail. Guy pulls the nail out - and amazingly it hasnt gone through and a squirt from the soapy water bottle shows no air escaping - result. So as I am celebrating quietly he spots another bit of metal, this time in the tread. Pulls it out and against all odds (4mm less rubber than on the 1st one) it also doesnt leak air afterwards. Then part 3 is found, removed and wow - also leaves tyre ok. So 3 bits of metal in my tyre and no holes Lucky me. |

I'd still change the tyre if that was me, just to be on the safe side, I've experienced a blow-out on the motorway and it aint fun.

Erm.. sorry to burst your bubble dude.. but if there were 3 bits of metal in your tyre I'm afraid that's your luck used up...
So, you've used up your luck for one tyre... I'd start cursing my luck now if I were you... ;) *wanders off spouting more doom and gloom and scaring small children* |
Re: Going to win the lottery tomorrow :)
Soulkiss, where do you get your servicing done? My 4000 is fast approaching... Metropolis are expensive no?

Re: Going to win the lottery tomorrow :)
I've had an equally lucky day. List of chores to do as long as my arm and I had to do them all by the weekend. I was expecting not to be able to go out tonight, as it happens, I managed them all in my lunch hour! Sort of, parking space right outside every shop, no queue, ask for x, chap behind the counter produces it in 2 seconds and I'm on my way.
In under 1 hour I managed to: retension the springs on my garage door (took 20 minutes, so imagine how quickly I did the rest!), dig out my camping equipment, pack my bag for the weekend, buy a replacement light switch, replace the old light switch with the new one, pick up a fluoro tube ignition cylinder (dunno what they're called), replace a fluorescent tube strip light ignition cylinder , replace a fuse in a bedside lamp, got a fancy dress costume sorted, dug out my soft luggage for my bike, pick up a hob lighter, get a multiplug, get a multi-scart box, get a colour and a black and white cartridge for my printer, dug out my passport and driver's licence, picked up a parcel at the post office, made a couple of phone calls, cooked an omlette. I just can't believe how smoothly it all went. |
