rad cap:tech ?

hi guys...thought i'd take sticker off of rad cap last night, only to find its not a sticker-its a tin cover thats glued on..:smt086 does anyone know if its designed that way as some sort of pressure release valve..? when cap is screwed on rad it releases a valve inside the rad cap, which is then covered by warning plate(sticker) which is just glued on..:confused:
maybe i should just leave things alone...:smt033

Have you thought how hot the rad gets? If it was a sticker it might come of realy easly.
