Good and sad day out today
Met up with a couple of people today to do the usual Boxhil/Newlands run. Sadly, got stuck in traffic and letting an ambulance past- finding it to be for a crash on the roundabout between Leatherhead and Boxhill on the A24- looks like a biker was in a collision with another vehicle on the r'bout- sad news indeed- I hope they are OK.
After that, stopped by Boxhill then to Newlands- lovely ride. On the way back, we passed the a deer that had just been hit by a car- it was still alive and probably in serious pain. A real shame- a few cars had stopped at the scene, so we moved on. I had to stand on the brakes to avoid running into Ollie as we slowed down passing it- eek! On a good note, we had a lovely ride- me on the SV, a Ollie on his Ninja 6 and his friend Rob on a lovely RSV. It was a beautiful day- at Boxhill I saw a lovely blue curvy with lower fairings, rear hugger and Fuel exhaust- wondered if it belonged to a .orger? I saw another running with the Fuel can running and decided that is definitely the one for me. A couple of Triumph rocket III's (one with a Giger'esque paint job on the tank) and another HUUUGE cruiser- similar to the Rockets- can't remember what it was though... Curiously, Rob has an Akrapovic on his RSV- he took the baffle out for the run from Rykers to Newlands- it was actually fairly quiet until the bike was really revving. |
