seat help
morning folks
thought id consult the sv oracle - anyone know where i can get hold of a gel seat or something similar for a K6 S? went out for a ride and my bum gets sore after about 25 miles - not good. have tried the search thingy but it tells me the word GEL is too short so it wont use it. :smt017 also - if there are any other options or recommendations for keeping my backside happy they will be greatly appreciated! ta in advance |
Re: seat help
I had exactly the same problem mate. You just can't get hold of these in the UK at all at the meoment. The occasionally come up on ebay, but you are likely to fall victim to muppet sellers who don't know what they are selling.
In the end I bought mine from the USA and had it imported. I paid £60 for the seat and by the time I had it imported etc it came to a total of £115, which is £5 less than the UK RRP price. It just peeeeed my off paying all the tax and duty. However it still cheaper than the UK and you can't get hold of them in the UK anyway. Here are all the deatails from the one I bought. = http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=230104594417 Take PARTICULAR note of the PART NUMBER: 990A0-61000. The K3 model will not fit the K6. Let me know if you need any more info. My is sat on the bike now and it is 100% better then the stock and stops the numb **** feeling. |
Re: seat help
cheers dan - thanks for the info - will grab myself one!

Re: seat help
You might just have to bide your time until one comes up that imports to the UK.
Be very wary of UK sellers because the majority on ebay are either battered or from an K3 which won't fit, even though they tell you it does just to get the sale. Regarding imports its a piece of ****. (As long as you expect the extra charges) You get a letter from Parcelforce saying they have your item. Go online pay the custom charge and state which day you want it, then bobs your uncle it arrives. Fit to bike and have no more numb bum. |
Re: seat help
I had the same problem when I first got my SV, looked for gel seats & seat inserts for 2 or 3 weeks, until I realised it wasn't hurting me any more. So my advice is persevere with it for a few weeks until either the SV's seat or your seat beds in !:smt103
