Home made front stand?
I need to change a clipon on my 2000 Curvey which looks like I'll need to take the top yoke off.
I guess I'll need to get the front off the ground to take the top yoke off? There's a hole through the engine roughly under the oil filter. Can I use this to jack the front of the bike off the ground? I'm sure I've seen something on here before, but I can't find it. Cheers Alex |
Re: Home made front stand?
Trolley jack under the engine block. Weight the back end down.

Re: Home made front stand?
You don't need to get the front off the ground so no stand needed.
The top yoke will come off no problem. Putting it back, you might just need to slightly take weight of the front(wheel doesn't even leave the ground) Ben |

Cool! Cheers for that. I assumed I'd need to jack the front to take the weight off the bottom yoke - you think that will be ok without? |
Re: Home made front stand?
As 21Quest says you don't need to jack 'm upà just to change the clipons. Just remove the upper yoke...
This is what I did with that hole under the engine (very usefull if you have to remove your forkes): http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=85332 |
