quick realese numberplate bracket ??
any ideas how i can fit a larger plate over my 9x3 just incase i need to ?
without drilling the 9x3 ....... some sort of bulldog clip? i have somthing in mind but not sure if it exsists. :smt102 |
Re: quick realese numberplate bracket ??
apparantly there are devices that enable you to flip up and down a plate (meant to be for track use but i imagine they help avoid speed cameras!!) so you could try and find one of them, and have it so it flips down over your 9x3???
just an idea, probably a useless one! |
Re: quick realese numberplate bracket ??
I thought they were made by or called "RacePlate" but I can't find anything with a quick Google. Have looked into them (in a longing kind of way) in the past. They were "justified" for avoiding track day insurance snoopers but I think really "targeted" at those wishing to escape unwanted attention.

Re: quick realese numberplate bracket ??
I did see one fitted to an R1 in fast bike magazine, march last year i think it was, they did tell you which company done them.
should have made a note. yes i think the track day use excuse is a bluff, and they are actually more use for avoiding detection. although i would have thought just having one plate on it and being up would draw a lot more attention than having it down? |
Re: quick realese numberplate bracket ??
They used to have similar ones on ebay too-haven't checked in a while so don't know if there still there. Twas thinking of getting one, but the flip part was manual, so needed to have a actuator or motor rigged up to it, so as to be able to flip it on the move.....:-dd

Re: quick realese numberplate bracket ??
I ahve no idea why you want to do this but cant you drill the holes in the big one in the same place as the holes for the little one (youmay have to do this anyhow depending on your arrangement) and then just use the number plate srews at full length so they can either hold on one plate or two together?

Re: quick realese numberplate bracket ??
what im thinking of is a springing like bracket that i can fit to the back of the 9x7 & kind of clip it on with the bracket clamping them together?

Might be handy as im going to a police station for a bike safe thing |
Re: quick realese numberplate bracket ??
If you are that bothered, why not just swap them over for the day.

Re: quick realese numberplate bracket ??
the pigs are meant to ignore small plates and lound cans on bikesafe days. its all about improving rather than enforcement - thats what they reckon anyway.
