I have read u can swop over the fittings from the back seat.. but mine on the cowl(cowel??) are riveted on? is this the normal height? http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...mpleted015.jpg I ask cos I am going to make saddle shutters and if I can get it lower all the better B4 I make the shutters. |
Re: why doesn tmy seat cowl fit lower

Re: why doesn tmy seat cowl fit lower
That looks a little higher than normal, although the gap does need to be reasonably generous at the back. You have to be able to lift the front high enough to clear the locking mechanism before you slide it forward and the back tilts down as you do. Try gluing an extra strip of rubber on the rear locating tab to pull it down a bit. Double sided sticky tape would be good whilst experimenting to find the required thickness. the gap at the front looks normal to me.

Re: why doesn tmy seat cowl fit lower
that doesnt look fitted right. mine does that when I have miss located the bit that slides under the metal bit first.
If it misses that it still clicks down but sitting on the wiring and high. |
Re: why doesn tmy seat cowl fit lower
I skimmed some of the rubber off the mountings on mine, that helped...

theres a pic in my saddle shutters bit.. ..
I just put some rubber and gaffer tape around the top of the hook it hooks under .. under the seat. and its a tighter fit.. not brill but tighter. |
