Got varying colours of powerbands here if you want em.

I'd recommend the yellow uns, but it's your choice.

Buy a different bike. The ammount of money that you will throw at an sv isnt worth the effort.

Put on a race can (Muffler) some decent tyres, sort the brakes and suspension out, and you will be able to brake harder and go round corners better, worth a poissble 10hp!! if you know what i mean.

Exhaust, filter and a remap is worthwhile.

The carbed cams for another 3bhp..ignition advancer...etc etc.

How much you want to spend?.

Id say exhaust first.....suspenders too.

I'm with Viney on this, the cost vs benefit of tuning an SV is very hard to justify for road use. The cost of a quality exhaust and filter, plus dyno time and the remap is fairly high... and that gets varying results, not everywhere's as good as SV650Racer's.

If you can work a spanner the curvy intakes on the exhaust side is good, mind, the parts are cheap, the fitment's not exactly easy but it's relatively complication free if you're careful and reason, and totally reversible. Since htere's no practical adjustment there's no setup time other than shimming the valves if need be.

Like the others I'd spend the money on suspension, an extra 10bhp doesn't make the SV feel especially mighty- it's faster, but won't pull your arms off. Putting the same effort into suspension makes it absolutely night and day though, and around your favourite track/ twisty route would almost certainly make more diffence, unless it's an oval...

But still, unless you really like the SV as a package- and obviously I do- it does make more sense to get a bike that's already sorted, than try and sort an SV.

Obviously it's "Do as I say, not as I do" :)
