Am I going to have to drain the rad?

yeah and the oil cause you need to take the whole side case of the clutch side :D

I guessed the oil as that was going to need doing, dam... oh well, might as well do it in one. I take it I just need to stick 'ironised' water in the rad then?

I normally use distilled water and antifreeze mix, same as the car. I normally mix 1 part antifreeze to 2 parts water.

Or you can buy ready mixed in some places but its expensive.

Ta, very much. Thought so, but I like to be sure of these things before I stick it all in my rad.

You wont need to drain the oil if you do the whole lot on the side stand. The sv leans enough for you to do this. However, if you feel more comfortable draining the oil, then do it. And PJ1 is the best to paint the casings with :)

Quite a good idea to change the oil since usually you'll get coolant contamination though...
