Whoops! Had an off...

Coming home from work tonight, 14 hours on duty. Coming round from Thurloe Place onto exhibition road near south ken tube.

Hit a patch of oil just as I was tipping into the corner, slid down the road and watched my pride and joy hit the curb...:smt089

I'm fine, luckily I was taking it easy 'coz I was tired, but the bike isn't...

Snapped the clutch lever (no biggy) snapped the gear lever (no biggy) and completely ruined the crash bung on the left hand side (that's what it's there for) So far, not so bad. Got on to ride it home and realised that the forks are pretty badly twisted.

Gonna have to get it into a garage this weekend to get sorted. Just the kind of expense i don't need right now. Hopefully the insurance will cover most of it, but I've a feeling I'm gonna have to cover the excess, lose my NCB and have to find another way to get to work for 5:30AM on Thursday and Friday.

I think the phrase rhymes with "tucking front".

That's a bummer.... I hope you didn't damage the road when you hit it :D

At least you're fine... So you won't be up the Ace on Friday then ?

There's some scrapes, but nothing in the large crater category. It was a lowside, not a highside... and no, I probably won't be down the Ace, but might make Frith since I'm prob'ly gonna be in the area.

Jamie are the forks bent or just twisted ? it's not that hard to sort them if so, just loosen everything bar the top clap bolts and bouce it a bit and it'll pull back in line.

the gear lever can be drilled and bolted, and if the levers are the same as the curvy's then I've probably got a spare set in the shed, could have you back up and running fairly soon, what time you finished today ?

Could pop over and have a look ?

Cheers Mark.

That'd rule if you could... should be free and home by 5ish, but I'm out in harrow, which is a long old way from you (I think) PM me your number and I'll give you a shout when I'm free. Maybe we can do it by you talking me through?

(Bear in mind it took me a couple of days to fit mini indicators...)

Cheers bro, you're a life saver!

Looks like it's more twisted than bent (bit like it's owner)... so maybe I'll have a go at it tonight.

Any advice or instruction gratefully recieved!

PM sent, we'll see what we can do, might not be pretty, but unless something major has gone, should be able to get you back on the road.

Cheers Mark.

Kerbs - nasty things. Out to get you as much as BMW 4x4's! ;)

Here's hoping it's not too serious on the bike front.
