Fitting R6 Throttle(Encountered Problems)
 

Many Problems.....!

Took the switchgear off eventually got the throttle off went to stick new throttle on and got it on eventually with some force with the cables. screwed it all back up and guess wat, throttle sticks on return :( I thought right ok so i'll take it somewhere to get it properly done, take the R6 throttle off and put the SV one back on. Same problem just not as worse :scratch::mad: I thought for gods sake why me :(:smt022 Then you know i thought screw it i dont care i'll get it sorted. I go to get on this mornin and o yes no lights :D even better just what i need. That was the point where i felt like finding a corner :smt011 I have a feeling that the throttle is sticking because i changed the throttle over without taking the tank off(not sure how to do it that way).

So all in all feeling nice n down now thanks to my off monday aswell.

its prolly because of the cables in the switch gear are messing with something, i removed the left switch gear and when i put it back on my high beams were always on, turned out i nipped a wire and it was grounding with the handlebar. Open it all up and check for free movement when the right switch gear top is off, then look carefully when you put it back together that all wires are tucked away and that all bits are present and fitted properly.

I looked at that, theres a little squarish switch that gets moved across by the looks of it and that doesnt look like its catching :mad:

Did you pull and twist the cables about when removing it? It can be quite easy to put a "kink" in a cable and that will make it bind.

The throttle is most likely sticking as there isn't enough slack in the cables, the barrel of the R6 twistgrip is larger, (hence the reason it has the effect it does), and will thus require the cables to be re-adjusted slightly slacker, dependant on the exact position of the various adjusters it's entirely possible that the upper ones do not afford enough movement. Lift the tank, and start there.

Exactly what I did!!

While you got the tank up, you may as well lube the throttle cables!!

Or you've fitted the new tube right at one end of the bar and it's rubbing on the bar end weight or something else. I did that when I fitted mine...

u do need to liftt he tank and slacken off the adjuster nuts etc and then tighten em up--

u now how?
