Friggin ReportMill
 

Why oh why did they decide in their infinite stupidity to create ReportMill & make it case sensative? The thing is damn multi-plantform. It doesn't need to be case sensative, because a decent naming convention will mean that case issues never arise! :smt011

I've just spent the best part of 2 days hunting down a NullPointer Exception in a RM template, because the ReportMill documentation itself has a damn typo in it & they got the case wrong of one of their own function calls!:compcrash:

This was then complicated by the fact that one of our old developers copied this mistake, and didn't test it. In fact, no-one tested it before it got out to a customer who tried to use it, and then complained when the computer broke down in tears.

That old developer no longer works as a developer because he shirks responsability wherever possible, so there's no point in raising the issue higher up. I'll just fire off a ranting email to our commercial team & ReportMill themselves :|

Could've been in Swahili for all I understood of that post hehe.......but I agree, darn computers, grrr......Though I only get as far as swearing at Microsoft/Tiscali normally :D

Just got though the complete unit test, and the ******* thing works perfectly now. The only change I made? Subsituting "i" for "I". :rambo:
