Help wiring my alarm
I am about to start wiring my new alarm and have found every wire I need to marry up with on the bike except I can't where the start switch is.
I need to connect one of the immobiliser wires to the the "yellow & green" output wire on the start switch. Anyone know where the hell I locate that on the bike? |
Re: Help wiring my alarm
Also can anyone confirm that the orange wire at the fuse box is main ignition positive?

Re: Help wiring my alarm
Dan, yes, the orange wire coming from the fuse box is the main ignition positive. This also feeds your LCD panel. Little hint here, you have 2 blank spaces in the fuse box next to this orange wire (look underneath). I soldered into here as those blanks actually use the same fuse as the orange wire ;)
The yellow & green, probably the easiest way would be to lift the tank, take the cover off the airbox, then remove the air box completely. The yellow & green wire feeds down here to the harness connector (along with your horn wiring etc). You can get to it if you don't remove the airbox, but you'll need to borrow a midget for the afternoon, their hands are smaller. HTH. |
Re: Help wiring my alarm
Dave,
Rather than taking the airbox out is it not possible to wire it straight to the ignition switch / relay output which "i think" is located directly under the main seat. There are 4 wires going in to it and one is the right colour. Also when I unplugged it and tried to start the bike it was dead. Dan |
