Rear suspension maintenence advice
Hello all.
My bikes an 02 naked with about 13k, as part of getting it ready for the road I want to take the rear swingarm linkages in bits for a good clean up and re-greasing. Whats the best way to prop the bike up while doing this? Was considering a trolley jack under the engine but this feels like its going to tip over. What do you guys use? Cheers Chris |

Re: Rear suspension maintenence advice
I'm looking for the more 'redneck' approach as the budgets a bit tight for £100 on a stand!
May end up using a few 4x2s and the jack... |
Re: Rear suspension maintenence advice
2 high stools and a 2x4 under the rear subframe is good, very stable. Or you can hang it from a big ladder or garage roof. No matter how you do it, if you're not using a solid stand like the NWS or ABBA, loosen the bolts first! They're very stiff, and you wouldn't be the first person to lever your bike off an improvised stand.

i am just about to rip the entire **** end off my 2001. found a centre stand at wemoto for it. won't be keeping it there after its facelift but my bloke insists it'll be a useful tool for all sorts of maintenance stuff.
