Hmmm what do I do
 

A mate is selling his GSXR with about 2500 on the clock. It is in top condition and has a dark screen and Scorpion exhaust fitted.
He is after £5400 or offers.
I have a K6 650s with about 8500 on the clock.
Mine is also in top condition with:
Carbon Scorpion
Dark screen
Lowers
R and G crash bungs
Cowl (with pad)
Hugger
Fender extender
Scottoiler
Evotech tail tidy
Datatool alarm

Now, my problem is, do I sell mine which has been lovingly cared for and end up out of pocket but with a GSXR, or stick with what I have and always wonder if I did the right thing.

What would be the going price for my nice shiny baby.

I'd say dealer price would be around £3300 so u;d still need £2k on top

depends really - can u afford a GSXR cause bare in mind insurance will be higher.

u could also sell ur mods and make some money out of them but again can u afford the gsxr?:D

What year GSXR is that and how long have you been riding and what sort of riding do you do ?

yeah- insurance could nail you. with 8500miles on a k6 it sounds like you do more mileage than many gsxrs, the sv is certainly comfier.

Right, I have had a think and have come to the conclusion that in the long term I would be worse off with the GSXR.
As I do get out and ride then the milage would be a bit much on a GSXR when selling time comes. And the insurance is the main factor in my decision, I do not live in the best part of the country for insurance and so will stick with my very nice SV.
I know that one day the SV will be replaced by something like a GSXR or CBRRR but for now I will get my enjoyment from the SV.
Anybody after a nice 56 plate GSXR in the red white and black colour scheme.?.

I already know whether I "need" it or not.
Unfortunately I can't say that I do.
However, last June I didn't "need" to replace the ER5 with the SV...........

I'm in a similar position, the lure of a sports600 is huge!

At the moment the insurance quotes for GSXR and CBRRR are making me keep the SV. I couldn't justify going 3rd party on a bike like that and the FC quote's are the wrong side of £1k.

I'm sure the time will come for a GSXR/CBRRR.. Good things come to those who wait. That's what i'm telling myself anyway.

I reckon if you did sell you would get £3500 for yours. I would expect the dealer trade-in price to be around £2500..
