SPEEDferries cancellations

A bit of information for all those already booked with speedferries is that for the time being they will no longer be taking motorcycles on their vessels.Reason..too many insurance claims apparently.(they can't tie bikes properly like cars) IF you didn't know this you do now. I booked a couple of months ago and only found out via my mate in France. i wouldn't have known until I got to Dover in Aug. They do refund your booking in full so you can go to P&O which is cheaper! hope this is some use to somebody

Eurotunnel is much better than ferries.

Euro tunnel is quicker than the ferries, and can be more flexible timing wise. However if you've done a long trip to get down South there is no where to sit apart from on the floor, no bar or food and it's a bit grimey. It's horses for courses, I've used ferries and the tunnel before and would use both again depending on trip, timings etc.

Well i'm a pansy, and after a long trip from halifax to dover, i decided the ferry would be best to gather myself.
We came across a b&b in Peuplingues through the bikestay website, but we've never travelled to France have no experience of it or any other. If anybody Knows of any b&b around Calais or Boulogne that bike friendly let me know. I need to rest my head before the trip down to the :smt015 south.

Piece of foam over your seat, Then a strap between two hooks on the floor going over your seat, ratcheted tight.

I've never known a bike to fall over, either on the Dover/Calais or Ireland/UK routes.

how about scratch's?

Never had one scratched. They're far enough apart.

If I think the straps a bit close to the bodywork when it's being tightened I slip my gloves under.
